8 year old Genius

Remember those boring college admission tests? Can you even imagine someone taking that test for fun? Well, an 8 year old boy from Brazil did. And he passed after just one week of preparation.

Joao Victor Portelinha de Oliveira's achievement astonished people around the world, shocking the Ministry of Education and Brazil's legal profession.

"My dream is to be a federal judge," the boy said. "So I decided to take the test to see how I would do ... It was easy. I studied a week before the test."

The "Universidade Paulista," where de Oliveira took the test is a multicampus private university in Sao Paolo. They initially enrolled the boy, but after he appeared at school with his father they turned him away. School officials stated, he has to graduate from high school before enrolling into college, and that the fees will be returned to him.

"I think they should have been more considerate," said the boy's mother. "At least they should've allowed him to visit the college's facilities."

The Brazilian Bar Association took the matter very seriously and said that the boys achievement should be taken as a warning about the low standards of some of the nation's law schools, adding that the boy has shown "the low quality and the commercialization of law studies" in this South American country.

Joao Victor is still in year 5 ( two levels ahead of normal for his age ) but his mother says he's just a normal boy and not a genius.

"He is a regular boy," she said, "he is very dedicated, likes to read and study, but he has fun and makes friends. It's just that he was stimulated, he participated in our discussions and he took interest in current affairs and interacted a lot with adults."

I guess, if you want your dreams to come true, you better start early.
